Sound Studio for Callie’s – Berlin. The residency space hosts artists who write, develop, rehearse and record their work within the facilities. The performance room was shaped to allow for a generous, yet controlled reverberation, tailored to contemporary acoustic music as well as amplified performances with audience.
A large wall section of the performance space is covered by a modular system of diffusers on wheels. These units, algorithmically-optimised for maximal diffusion, can be detached and moved across the floor to reshape the space according to the needs of artists or recording musicians to increase closeness, intimacy and supports for the performers in an acoustic setting.
The control room is a compact space designed for recording, mixing and mastering work, compliant with Standard EBU Tech 3276 for listening room. A visual connection is present between the two rooms which are otherwise fully acoustically decoupled.
